The stage hill is the second-biggest Pre-Columbian earthwork in the nation, after Monk's Mound at Cahokia, Illinois. It is the sort site for the Emerald Phase 1500 to 1680 CE of the Natchez Bluffs Plaquemine culture chronology was still being used by the later memorable Natchez individuals for their primary formal focus.
