Elizabeth Islands
About Elizabeth Islands
The islands were guaranteed by England and named after Queen Elizabeth I. The Elizabeth Islands are a chain of little islands expanding southwest from the southern shoreline of Cape Cod, Massachusetts in the United States. These islands were well known among locals and visitors, they are situated at the external edge of Buzzards Bay, north of Martha's Vineyard from which they are isolated by Vineyard Sound, and constitute the town of Gosnold, Massachusetts in Dukes County.
The islands were a piece of the wiped out Dukes County, New York. The primary known European occupant was Francis Usselton, who had been ousted at the ideal opportunity for making mystery exchanges with the neighborhood Indians without assent from the representative.
