About Edgerton

Edgerton, otherwise called Edgerton Park and Frederick F. Brewster Estate, is a 20-section of land 8.1 ha open stop on Whitney Avenue straddling the New Haven– Hamden town line in Connecticut. It is site of the decimated Victorian home of Eli Whitney II, known as "Ivy Nook". In 1909, it turned into the domain of industrialist Frederick F. Brewster, with another Tudor-style house developed named "Edgerton" for its area on the edge of town.

The house was destroyed in 1964, according to Brewster's desires, after the demise of his better half, and the property was given to the city. The present scene was planned by Robert Storer Stephenson in 1909.
