About Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad
In 1882, a rail line between the mining town of Silverton, Colorado and the railroad town of Durango was opened keeping in mind the end goal to transport gold and silver. Three feet wide, the restricted coal-let go steam motors initially conveyed metal, diggers, cattle rustlers, and pilgrims, and it now transports guests on a unique prepare on the exceptionally same line.
The forty-five mile trip takes four and a half hours to ride, as it is still coal-let go, and twists along limit mountain ways and all through gullies. Noteworthy portrayal is accessible on the trains for intrigued sightseers. Both the Silverton and Durango finishes of the line have railroad exhibition halls; the Durango Museum contains antiquities relating to the historical backdrop of railroading, and the Silverton Museum shows a Baldwin Locomotive from 1902 in the first 1882 Depot.
