Duke University Chapel is a house in Durham, North Carolina, United States. It is an ecumenical Christian house of prayer and the focal point of religion at Duke, and has associations with the United Methodist Church.The Chapel remains at the focal point of the college, on the most astounding edge of Duke University's West Campus. In spite of the fact that anticipates a church were first made in April 1925, the foundation was not laid until October 22, 1930. When it was finished in 1935 at a cost of $2.3 million, the Chapel was the remainder of the first structures to be based on West Campus.The sanctuary was planned by Julian Abele, boss originator for the Philadelphia firm of Horace Trumbauer.
