Detroit Historical Museum
About Detroit Historical Museum
Detroit lawyer advisor and student of history, Clarence M. Burton, gathered papers and archives appropriate to the city's long history. In 1914, he gave his get together of records to the Detroit Public Library and after that started to encourage thoughts for a noteworthy verifiable exhibition hall centered upon this city. In 1921, he joined with 19 other nearby people intrigued by the city's history to shape the Detroit Historical Society. The association grew gradually, yet in 1927 they leased office space in what was then known as the Barlum Tower on Cadillac Square and is currently known as the Cadillac Towers, a building that in the mid 21st century was to a great extent if not so much leased by the City of Detroit.
