About Del Norte County Historical Society
The Museum is situated at the intersections of sixth and H Streets in Crescent City, California. The Museum is housed in the previous County Hall of Records. It was worked in 1926 and a bit of the building was utilized for the County Jail until 1963 when the present County Sheriff's station opened. The Historical Society assumed control over the building and with some inside redesigning it turned into the Museum in 1965. There are still some unique correctional facility cells on the second floor, which additionally fill in as individual display rooms. The Main Museum has an abundance of intriguing presentations. One room is given to ancient rarities of the neighborhood Tolowa and Yurok Native Americans. It incorporates one of the finest Native American crate accumulations in Northern California. Melodic instruments, old radio, phonographic and photographic gear, great embroidery, early logging and mining apparatuses and hardware, and numerous styles and furniture from yesteryear are only a portion of the articles and subjects spoke to and in plain view in the Main Museum.
