Days of 76 Museum
About Days of 76 Museum
Recognizing the gathering of excavators, miners, and gold panners that overwhelmed into Deadwood amid the 1876 Gold Rush, the Days of 76 Museum initially started, and proceeds, as a social festival of the zone. The block and cement of the historical center stems from requiring storage room for the stallion drawn wagons from the Days of 76 parade that initially occurred in 1924.
Through augmentations to the stock in addition to a fresh out of the plastic new working in 2004, the present Days of 76 Museum was conceived and now offers 32,000-square feet of displays and antiques to investigate. The close exceptionally old Days of 76 parade still happens each year, and combined with the broadly perceived Days of 76 Rodeo, the Days of 76 Museum and celebrations conveys maybe the clearest photo of Deadwood's history and culture today.
