Dakota City is a city in Nebraska, United States. The populace was 1,919 at the 2010 statistics. It is the region seat of Dakota County. Tyson Foods' biggest hamburger generation plant is situated in Dakota City. Dakota City was platted in 1856. It was named for the Dakota people. Dakota City was fused as a city in 1858.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has an aggregate zone of 1.20 square miles 3.11 km2, of which, 1.08 square miles 2.80 km2 is arrive and 0.12 square miles is water. As of the census of 2010, there were 1,919 individuals, 637 family units, and 464 families living in the city. There were 657 lodging units at a normal thickness of 608.3 for every square mile.
