The Natural zone of the numerous open zones around Kingston, one definitely justified even despite a visit is the Cook Natural Area otherwise called the Cook Preserve. Just toward the east of Kingston, it is a position of one of a kind intrigue. It was made by Deed of Gift from Grace Cook to the State of New Jersey in the 1970s. By the terms of the Deed, the Preserve is to be "kept up to advance the pleasure in common things including trees, flying creatures, untamed life and water; to instruct general society with regards to the significance of biology to all life including man's; and to support plants and creatures for rural, plant, logical and recreational purposes." The goal of the blessing was to keep up the feeling of the old farmland and the rural enjoyment of its view.
