About Cisco
Interstate 20 goes through the south side of the city, driving west 45 miles to Abilene and east 105 miles to Fort Worth. Access to Cisco is from Exits 330 and 332. U.S. Highway 183 goes through the focal point of Cisco, driving north 28 miles to Breckenridge and south 49 miles to Brownwood. Texas State Highway 6 additionally goes through the focal point of town, driving east 10 miles to Eastland, the province seat, and northwest 33 miles to Albany.In the 1920s, the Williamson Dam was fabricated north of town, bringing about the development of Lake Cisco. The dam was named after James Milton Williamson, long-term chairman and survivor of the 1893 tornado. At its base was constructed what was charged as the biggest solid swimming pool on the planet.
