About Charleston Museum
Established in 1773 as the principal exhibition hall in the United States, the Charleston Museum was opened to the general population with the point of investigating and saving the characteristic and social history of Charleston and the South Carolina seaside area. Today, the historical center is home to ious accumulations and shows that show the legacy of the district.
The exhibition hall is spread more than two noteworthy structures, in particular the Heyward-Washington House - a 18thcentury house claimed by Revolutionary loyalist and underwriter of the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Heyward, Jr, and the Joseph Manigault House – a government style home decorated with mid nineteenth century furniture.
