Carnton Plantation
About Carnton Plantation
The Carnton Plantation goes back to 1826, and Nashville chairman Randal McGavock fabricated the sprawling home. The home has a rich history in light of its nearness to the site of the Battle of Franklin, a five-hour battle that finished with almost 10,000 men being killed, harmed, or missing.
The Carnton Plantation turned into the biggest field healing facility for Confederate troops in the territory. At a certain point, four Confederate commanders were set down on the back patio of the home. Their bloodstains are obvious on the entryway patio right up 'til the present time. Also, 1,500 Confederate fighters are covered in a burial ground that sits contiguous the home. Today, guests can take 60 minutes since a long time ago guided voyage through the Carnton Plantation, the grounds, and its sheds. A few visits stop by the Carter Home, another authentic house that sits about a mile far from the Carnton Plantation.
