The Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is a workmanship gallery established in 1895 by the Pittsburgh-based industrialist Andrew Carnegie.The exhibition hall holds a recognized accumulation of contemporary craftsmanship, including film and video works. The exhibition hall was the main historical center in the United States with a solid spotlight on contemporary workmanship. The exhibition hall's beginnings can be followed to 1886 with Andrew Carnegie's underlying concept:"I am considering joining with the arrangement for a library that of a craftsmanship display in which might be saved a record of the advance and improvement of pictorial workmanship in America." Dedicated on November 5, 1895, the workmanship display was at first housed in the Carnegie Libraries of Pittsburgh Main Branch in Oakland.
