Camp Hancock State Historic Site
About Camp Hancock State Historic Site
Camp Hancock State Historic Site saves some portion of a 1872 army base once known as Camp Greeley that was built up to give security to battalion troops who were building the Northern Pacific Railroad. Situated at 101 East Main Avenue, the camp highlights a few structures, including the log lodge that was before the home office of the camp and now fills in as an interpretive historical center loaded with curios, things, and data about Bismarck's nearby history.
Different conveniences on the site incorporate a 1909 Northern Pacific Locomotive, the most seasoned church in Bismarck, the Bread of Life Church, a flawless cookout region for unwinding, and present day restrooms. The camp's name was changed to Camp Hancock in 1873 and is currently recorded on the National Register of Historic Places.
