About Camden Hills State Park
Camden Hills State Park is a 5,710-section of land 2,310 ha open amusement territory sitting above Penobscot Bay in the town of Camden, Knox County, Maine. The state stop highlights multi-utilize trails to Mount Battie, Mount Megunticook, and other grand areas. The recreation center is overseen by the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry.The stop was created amid the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps working at the heading of the National Park Service. The Camden Hills CCC camp was in task from June 1935 to September 1941 making streets, trails, structures, and recreational facilities. The land was swung over to the state in 1947.7 The Mount Battie Auto Road was finished in 1965. The Maine Conservation Corps included a stone staircase for sea access in 1990.
