Bowling Green
About Bowling Green
Bowling green is New York City's most seasoned stop. As indicated by custom, this spot filled in as the gathering ground for Native American clans and was the site of the unbelievable offer of Manhattan to Peter Minuit in 1626. The Dutch called the zone "the Plain" and utilized it for a few purposes including a parade ground, meeting spot, and dairy cattle showcase. It denoted the start of Heere Staat — an exchange course which expanded north through Manhattan and the Bronx. In 1686, the site was assigned as open property, when the City Charter put all "waste, empty, unpatented and inappropriate lands" under city space.
