Boulder Creek
About Boulder Creek
Boulder Creek is a 50.5 km stream depleting the Rocky Mountains toward the west of Boulder and also the city itself and encompassing fields. Boulder Creek frames a significant part of the characteristic magnificence of downtown Boulder. It is a prominent summer recreational spot for some open air exercises, including tubing, fly angling, and swimming. The Boulder Creek Festival happens amid the mid year along the spring in Central Park.
The brook is framed by two principle tributaries and later joined by South Boulder Creek. North Boulder Creek frames in a valley between Navajo Peak and Arikaree Peak on the Continental Divide, in the Green Lakes chain of lakes. The brook streams 28.6 km past the network of Switzerland Park to join Middle Boulder Creek.
Middle Boulder Creek ascends as two forks from the Continental Divide: the North Fork ascends in a cirque beneath Mount Neva and streams 12.1 km toward the South Fork. The South Fork ascends at Rollins Pass on the Continental Divide and streams 8.9 km toward the North Fork. From the intersection of the two forks, Middle Boulder Creek, 22.0 km long, streams east through the towns of Eldora and Nederland into Barker Meadow Reservoir, a water supply for the city of Boulder, before joining North Boulder Creek to frame the primary stem of Boulder Creek.
