About Bigelow Park
Bigelow Park is situated at the north end of Middleground Island and is around 9 sections of land. The property for the recreation center was given in 1929 as a blessing from Charles Bigelow, who worked a vast sawmill on the riverfront. Extra land was bought by the city in 1949. It was not until the point that 1991 that it was produced into a recreation center. The recreation center contains a broad footbridge that crosses the waterway channel and interfaces the recreation center to Veterans Memorial Park and the riverwalk.
Play area hardware and a structure were developed by the Bay City Lions Club. The structure is regularly leased for family get-togethers, organization picnics and other get-togethers and accompanies lavatories when leased. The north end of Middleground Island likewise contains a Victorian-style building rented to the Rowing Club as a clubhouse, a Boys and Girls Club office, and an angling wharf.
