It is named for Jean-Baptiste Le Moyne de Bienville. It has a zone of 178,541 sections of land 72,253 ha. The woods is headquartered in Jackson, similar to every one of the six National Forests in Mississippi, however there are neighborhood officer area workplaces situated in Forest.
Guests can appreciate drifting and looking for bass, bream, and crappie on Marathon Lake and Shongelo Lake, and campgrounds and trails are open for climbing and outdoors. The Forest exists in the Southeastern blended woods ecoregion and backings blended timberlands of pine and oak. The upper courses of the Leaf and Strong Rivers move through the woodland.
