Bellingrath Gardens and Home
About Bellingrath Gardens and Home
Bellingrath Gardens and Home is a 65-section of land stop containing open greenery enclosures and a house historical center close Theodore, Mobile County, 20 miles south of Mobile. Frequently alluded to as "the appeal spot of the Deep South," the bequest is named for previous proprietors Walter Duncan and Bessie Mae Morse Bellingrath.
Walter Bellingrath was a prosperous nearby Coca-Cola bottler in the early many years of the twentieth century. Brought up in Castleberry, Conecuh County, Bellingrath worked for the Louisville and Nashville Railroad in Montgomery until 1903, when he purchased a Coca-Cola packaging establishment with his sibling, William. As the business developed, they chose to part their scope regions; Walter picked Mobile, which turned out to be a budgetary beneficial move. The ever-prominent drink sold well in southwest Alabama, and Bellingrath soon extended his business possessions past packaging into distribution centers, a tile firm, and steamship organizations.
