The Beauvoir bequest is outstanding as the notable post-war home 1876-1889 of the previous President of the Confederate States of America, Jefferson Davis, 1807/08-1889, who was additionally previous U.S. Agent, 1845-1846, and all the more persuasively as United States Senator from Mississippi, 1847-1851, 1857-1861 and in the middle of U.S. Secretary of War, 1853-1857, under fourteenth President Franklin Pierce. Its development was started in 1848 confronting the Gulf Coastline Gulf of Mexico at Biloxi, Mississippi. It was bought before in 1873 by the grower Samuel Dorsey and his better half Sarah Dorsey. After her significant other's demise in 1875, the dowager, Sarah Ellis Dorsey scholarly of previous Confederate President Jefferson Davis' challenges.
