Bearden
About Bearden
Bearden is an area in Knoxville, Tennessee, United States, situated along Kingston Pike in West Knoxville. Grown fundamentally as an agrarian network in the nineteenth century, this area currently lies at the core of one of Knoxville's significant business passages. Named for previous Knoxville leader and Tennessee state official, Marcus De Lafayette Bearden 1830– 1885, the network was added by Knoxville in 1962. Bearden lies along Kingston Pike U.S. Highway 70 and U.S. Highway 11 and nearby streets, around 5 miles 8.0 km west of Knoxville's downtown zone.
It customarily incorporates the Kingston Pike hall between Lyons View Pike on the east and Sutherland Avenue on the west, however the expression "Bearden" can freely allude to the whole Kingston Pike region between Sequoyah Hills and Turkey Creek. The West Hills neighborhood lies northwest of Bearden, Forest Heights lies inverse Sutherland toward the north, and Ebenezer Mill deceives the southwest.
Bearden started as a little network that created around a strengthened house, which was most likely found some place close to the cutting edge intersection of Kingston Pike and Northshore Drive. This people group was at first known as "Erin," probably after the substantial number of Irish pilgrims that occupied the area. In 1792, Knoxville surveyor Charles McClung reviewed the "Kingston Road" the precursor of the advanced Kingston Pike—which was worked to associate Knoxville with Campbell's Station current Farragut. This conveyed expanded settlement to western Knox County.
