About Beacon Reservoir
Beacon Reservoir is situated at 1,285 feet 392 m above ocean level in an empty between Beacon Mountain and Scofield Ridge, in the neighboring Town of Fishkill, near the Putnam County line. It is famous for its amazing picturesque reference point Reservoir supplies water to the city of a similar name in Dutchess County, New York, United States. It was made in 1922 by damming Dry Brook, a tributary of Fishkill Creek.
It holds 125 million US gallons 470,000 m3. An openly available soil street, regularly used to climb the mountain, keeps running from the city past it to the summits. No drifting or angling or swimming is permitted in the store. It is the most elevated lake in Dutchess County.
