Barnacle State Historic Site

The Barnacle Historic State Park is a 5-acre Florida State Park in the Coconut Grove neighborhood of Miami.This magnificent house with an odd name dates to a less demanding time.Built in 1891, it is the most prepared house in its exceptional region in Miami-Dade County.Situated on the shore of Biscayne Bay, this was the home of Ralph Middleton Munroe, one of Coconut Grove's most overwhelming and convincing pioneers. Its central room is octagonal perfectly healthy and a one-story structure house, was raised off the ground on wood pilings. Munroe's day, completed with impersonations of two of his sailboats It remained a house until the point that the moment that 1908 when more space was required for his growing family. The whole structure was lifted and another first story installed underneath. In 1912 a library was collected neighboring the house.
