Arnold Arboretum
About Arnold Arboretum
The Arnold Arboretum of Hard University is an arboretum arranged in the Jamaica Plain and Roslindale zones of Boston, Massachusetts. It was made by Frederick Law Olmsted and is the second greatest "association" in the Emerald Necklace. The Arboretum was built up in 1872 when the President and Fellows of Hard College advanced toward getting to be trustees of a fragment of the inheritance of James Arnold 1781– 1868, a whaling shipper from New Bedford, Massachusetts. Benjamin Bussey, a prosperous Boston merchant and legitimate farmer, gave his country inheritance Woodland Hill and a bit of his fortune to Hard University "for rule in cultivating, horticulture, and related subjects".
