Armed Forces Memorial
About Armed Forces Memorial
The Armed Forces Memorial is a 160-foot landmark with 20 bronze cast letters scattered over the base of a flagpole. The bronze pieces are real letters written to friends and family by individuals from the Armed Forces who stayed away forever from war. Raised in the late spring of 1998, the commemoration is committed to veterans of American clashes from the Revolutionary to Persian Gulf War.
It was planned by James Cutler and Maggie Smith. This dedication is a genuinely moving tribute to the individuals who made a definitive forfeit. The dedication is situated in the recently remodeled Town Point Park, settled between the Elizabeth River and Downtown Norfolk.
