About Anaconda Smelter
A smokestack which is so substantial the Washington Monument could fit inside.
The Anaconda Smelter Stack is a fireplace or block smokestack, once part of the Washoe Smelter of the Anaconda Copper Mining Company ACM at Anaconda, Montana in the United States.
An earthenware covering secured the whole block smokestack when new, yet when the smelter shut in 1981, and all had dissolved away aside from the upper 40%, uncovering the greater part of its blocks and strengthening poles.
Within measurement at the base of the block fireplace is 76 feet while that at the best is around 60 feet.
