American Sign Museum
About American Sign Museum
The Museum's gathering begins in the 1970s and backpedals into the 1800s, highlighting indications of each sort, produced using relatively every material possible. The American Sign Museum in Cincinnati, Ohio, jam, documents, and shows an accumulation of signs. Among the striking signs are the Sputnik-like "Satellite" sign, hand-worked to promote a strip shopping center, a solitary curve McDonald's sign with the pre-Ronald "Speedee" character, and more than 200 different signs.
The absolute most wonderful signs are those from the pre-neon period, including signs publicizing haberdashers, shoemakers, pharmacists, and other turn-of-the-century organizations. The Sign Museum is making arrangements to move into a considerably bigger building with the goal that it can show a portion of the bigger signs from its gathering. The new space, with more than 500 signs showed in a made-up town called "Signville," is set to open in 2010.
