Alms Park
About Alms Park
Neglecting the Ohio River at an area initially known as "Bare" Hill, the Alms Park got its memorable name from its Native American relationship as it was thought to have been cleared of trees by Native individuals. The recreation center was later named Frederick H. Charity Memorial Park, as a remembrance to Mr. Offerings by his significant other, Eleanora. The parkland, arranged on a peak like huge numbers of Cincinnati's unordinary parks, was obtained by the Park Board with stores from the Alms home which brought about almost 94 sections of land of open space.
Other spot highlights incorporate a solace station planned by designer Carl Freund and inherent 1936 with reserves from the Works Progress Administration, and a remembrance statue to Stephen Foster Collins made by Arturo Ivone in 1937 and gave by Josiah Kirby Lilly, an Indianapolis-based admirer of the writer.
