Alliance is a city in Box Butte County, in the northwestern piece of the territory of Nebraska, in the Great Plains area of the United States. Its populace was 8,491 at the 2010 census. It is the region seat of Box Butte County. Partnership is the home to Carhenge, a copy of Stonehenge developed with autos, which is found north of the city. The town was initially named Grand Lake. At the point when the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad came to Grand Lake in 1888, the railroad director, G.W. Holdrege, needed to transform it to a basic single word name nearer to the start of the letter set, which he thought would be better for business.
The U.S. Mail station gave Holdrege consent, and he picked "Union" for the new name of the town. Cooperation was fused as a city in 1891. The Alliance Army Airfield was built up in 1942. Development was finished in August 1943 and the Army Air Corps utilized the office as a preparation base until the finish of World War II. The office was exchanged from the government to the City of Alliance in 1953 and is as of now being used as the Alliance Municipal Airport.
