Albany Institute of History & Art
About Albany Institute of History & Art
The Albany Institute of History and Art is committed to the workmanship, culture, and history of Albany and the Upper Hudson Valley area. The exhibition hall was established in 1791, making it one of the most seasoned historical centers in the U.S. It converged with the Albany Historical and Art Society and progressed toward becoming Albany Institute of History and Art in 1926.
The historical center is housed in three structures: the Rice Building, a late nineteenth century Beaux-Arts chateau; the principle fabricating, a 1920s Classical Revival structure; and an advanced glass constructing that associates the two. Its accumulation of more than 20,000 articles incorporates earthenware production, illustrations, furniture, verifiable ancient rarities, compositions, models, and that's only the tip of the iceberg.
