About Albany City Hall
Albany City Hall is a historic building and the seat of government for the city of Albany. Worked in 1883 by Henry Hobson Richardson in Romanesque style, City Hall includes a 202 foot 62 meter tall bells tower which is one of couple of civil chimes in the U.S.
The bells, worked by the John Taylor Company from England, was included 1927 as a remembrance to the warriors who lost their lives amid World War I. Recorded on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places, the building houses the workplace of the chairman, city and municipal courts, and other city benefit workplaces.
