Winchesters Military Museums

Winchester's Military Quarter is arranged in the amazing safeguarded Victorian sleeping shelter beside the Great Hall. There are six historical centers to investigate, every one with shocking accumulations of awards, lovely depictions, perfect garbs, interesting chronicle film and impactful individual trinkets. Together they recount the narrative of British officers in peace and in war, at home and abroad, over the most recent 300 years.

The galleries offer family exercises at half-term and amid the school occasions. In 2017 there will be shows about the military in Jane Austen's books. The Little Kitchen Cafe, situated in the Guardroom Museum at the passage to the sleeping enclosure, gives light snacks and evening teas – a perfect place to take a break in the middle of historical center visits.
