About Wellesbourne War Memorial
Little stone wheel cross on a little-gabled plinth, straight shaft, fundamental square plinth and two ventured base. The engraving and names are etched into the sides of the principal square plinth at the base of the pole. The commemoration is Grade II recorded. Initially raised in 1920 on the Village Green close to the Talbot Hotel.There were additional issues with the expanding engine activity around the site.
There was a mischance announced including somebody attempting to get to the dedication. Therefore it was chosen to move the remembrance. In the blink of an eye before the Remembrance Day benefit on Sunday tenth November 1946 the Memorial was evacuated to its present position on a region of insane clearing to the back of the congregation tower, inside the Churchyard of St. Peter's.
