Waltham Windmill
About Waltham Windmill
Waltham, a medium-sized town close Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire, once had a coverall process with a bread shop, and on a perfect site by the B1203 street there was a trestle-type postmill from 1666, which was blown down in 1744. This was supplanted by another postmill with a wooden round house which was blown down in 1873/4 while experiencing substitution of a portion of the tressle timbers work being embraced by Saunderson's of Louth. A clunch tower process chalk tower most likely encased in block remained close to the crossing point between the High Street and Barnoldby Road and crumbled one wet day when the millwrights were taking a shot at it.
