Talland Bay
About Talland Bay
Talland Bay is west of the city of Looe in Cornwall. On Talland Bay are sheltered shingle seashores, Talland Sand and Rotterdam Beach, and the bay became as soon as properly referred to as a touchdown spot for smugglers. It has also been the scene of many shipwrecks together with that of a French trawler, the Marguerite, in March 1922. Two private boats achieved a dramatic rescue and all 21 humans have been saved. The stays of the ship's boiler can still be sincerely visible at the seaside at low tide.
The hamlet of Talland with Talland Parish Church is close by. Celebrity couple Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan have a home in Talland Bay. The place is one of the most unspoiled sections of the south west coast and is each a chosen Area of Outstanding Beauty and a Heritage Coast, but in October 2007, Caradon District Council granted making plans permission for a controversial development of 40 new homes costing between £285,000 and £350,000 after more than a hundred local human beings lodged their objections.
