Swansea Castle
About Swansea Castle
Swansea Castle is situated in the downtown area of Swansea, Wales, UK. It was established by Henry de Beaumont in 1107 as the caput of the lordship of Gower. The manor is presently demolished and just two pieces remain, however the site has been enhanced in the 2010s for use as an open space.
Swansea Castle is situated on the east side of the downtown area, confronting Castle Square the River Tawe used to stream a short separation east on what is currently the Strand. Initially covering 4.6 sections of land 1.9 ha, the surviving stays of the square château incorporate private pieces, together with a segment of parapet divider framing a L-shape toward the southeast. There are five passage vaulted storm cellar rooms.
