About Stansted House
Only a couple of miles upper east of Portsmouth, Stansted House, set in fabulous parkland with an arboretum, walled gardens, and an old church, is well worth adding to your movement schedule. The Wren-style house dates to the seventeenth century and contains the Bessborough accumulation of artistic creations and family decorations, including mid-eighteenth century paintings.Stansted Park remains in 1800 sections of land of phenomenal arranged parkland and old woodland inside the South Downs National Park.
The State Rooms are outfitted just as the tenth Earl was still at home, giving the guest a genuine feeling of a past period. In 1983 the tenth Earl of Bessborough gave Stansted Park, the Arboretum, his family home and its excellent substance to people in general.The broad Servants' Quarters beneath stairs are loaded with noteworthy antiques that are enlivened by the exceptionally educated and inviting stewards who will control you through the energetic history of the House.
