St Georges Church

St George's Church is a Church of England church on the Isle of Portland, worked in the vicinity of 1754 and 1766 The sprawling churchyard is a fortune trove of astounding tombstones and commemorations that tell stories of murder, theft and experience in a superbly barometrical setting. to supplant St. Andrew's which had fallen into neglect and was not any more appropriate as a position of worship.

The inside is astoundingly saved with its podium, platform, box seats and displays all surviving. It is a 'minister's congregation'; with all the seating confronting the twin platforms - one for perusing 'the Word'; sacred text, the other for extensive sermons.
