Solent Sky

Solent Sky's Heritage Lottery Funded exhibition Romance of the Flying Boat and opened on 29 November 2017.

Solent Sky is an aviation museum in Southampton, Hampshire, previously known as Southampton Hall of Aviation.

It depicts the history of aviation in Southampton, the Solent area, and Hampshire.

There is a special focus on the super marine aircraft company, based in Southampton, and its most famous products, the super marine S.6 seaplane, and the super marine Spitfire, designed by R. J. Mitchell.

It is famous among the locals and the visitors. There is also coverage of the Schneider Trophy seaplane races, twice held at Calshot Spit, and the flying boat services and which was operated from the Solent sky.
