The Sedgwick Museum of Earth Sciences is the geography gallery of the University of Cambridge. It is a piece of the Department of Earth Sciences and is situated on the University's Downing Site in Downing Street, focal Cambridge, England.
It is the most established of the eight historical centers which make up the University of Cambridge Museums consortium. The Sedgwick has a gathering of around 2 million rocks, minerals and fossils, traversing a time of 4.5 billion years. They are a vital global asset for research, learning and delight.
The Harker Collection of volcanic and changeable rocks is named in the wake of driving petrologist Alfred Harker who spent numerous years arranging and inventorying the accumulation.
The 'Beagle' Collection includes roughly 2000 rocks and a couple of fossils gathered by Charles Darwin amid his voyage the world over on HMS Beagle.
