Sandal Castle is famous among locals for its historical presence; it is a demolished medieval château in Sandal Magna, a suburb of the city of Wakefield in West Yorkshire, England, disregarding the River Calder. It was the site of regal interest and the setting for a scene in one of William Shakespeare's plays.
