About Royal North Devon Golf Club
Royal North Devon Golf Club was established in 1864, and is the most established green in England. The course was structured by the Scottish golfer, Old Tom Morris. Three driving British golfers of the late 19th and mid 20th were known as the Great Triumvirate. One of them J.H. Taylor, took in his golf at the Royal North Devon Golf Club and was put Honorary President of the Club in 1957. Royal North Devon was additionally the home course for the prominent beginner golfer Horace Hutchinson who won the British Amateur in 1886 and 1887. The course has facilitated The Amateur Championship on three events, in 1912, 1925, and 1931. The Club gives offices to one of the biggest Junior Sections in the nation.
Illustrious North Devon Golf Club is situated on Northam Burrows among Northam and Westward. Northam Burrows is basic land and was informed as a Site of Special Scientific Interest in 1988. Golfers share the earth with sheep, horses and walkers. In January 2018 piece of the 7th green was washed away amid Storm Eleanor and there is contradiction between the golf club and Natural England on the administration of the drift.
