About Royal Engineers Museum
The School of Military Engineering and the Museum were established in 1812, amid the Peninsular War. The Library was established in 1813. It recounts the tale of the Corps of Royal Engineers and British military designing in general. The Royal Engineers Museum, Library and Archive is a military building historical center and library in Gillingham, Medway, South East England.
In 1904, the 'Ravelin Building' was assembled and was initially utilized as electrical architects' school for the Royal Engineers. It was composed by Major E.C.S.Moore RE. It cost £40,000 to build. It was classed as Grade II recorded on 5 December 1996. The Museum moved to its present site in the Ravelin working in 1987.
