About Rowley Hills Nature Reserve

The Rowley Hills are a scope of slopes situated in the West Midlands region in England, and incorporate Turner's Hill, Bury Hill, Portway Hill, and Darby's Hill. The edge frames some portion of the east/west watershed between the River Severn and the River Trent, with precipitation on the western side heading off to the Bristol Channel through the Severn, and precipitation on the eastern side winding up in the North ocean by means of the Trent. The slopes are arranged east of the town of Dudley in Rowley Regis, on the fringe between the metropolitan precincts of Dudley and Sandwell.

The biggest slope, Turner's Hill, is the most astounding point in the West Midlands, with an elevation of 271m above ocean level. Perspectives from the summit incorporate the Clee Hills, Clent Hills, Cannock Chase, and quite a bit of Birmingham and the Black Country. The stature has additionally prompted the development of two radio transmission towers on the summit. Rowley Rag, a type of Dolerite strikingly used to make kerbstones, was in the past quarried from the Rowley Hills.Over the hundreds of years that the slopes have been occupied there have been four temples situated there, all named St. Giles, in the town of Rowley.
