About Romsey Abbey

Romsey Abbey is an area church of the Church of England in Romsey, a market town in Hampshire, England. Until the point that the disintegration it was the congregation of a Benedictine religious shelter. It is presently the biggest ward church in the province, since Christchurch Priory is currently in Dorset. The congregation was initially worked amid the 10th century, as a feature of a Benedictine establishment. The surviving church is the town's exceptional component, or, in other words more striking in light of the fact that the monastery, as a convent, would have been less well fiscally supplied than different religious foundations of the time.
The choirs are comprised of customary young lady Choristers following the Romsey convention of the singing nuns kid Choristers a more up to date expansion in 1867 and a back line of grown-up altos, Tenors and basses drawn from the neighborhood. There is a senior young ladies choir of the most exceptional artists and a Consort of intentional artists. In the previous 3 years the choirs have recorded 5 CDs, sung for sovereignty, appreciated Choir visits to Italy, France and UK.
