Ramsgate Maritime Museum
About Ramsgate Maritime Museum
Ramsgate Maritime Museum is an oceanic exhibition hall in Ramsgate, Kent, England, that depicts the sea history of East Kent. The exhibition hall is arranged in the Clock House on the quayside of the Royal Harbor at Ramsgate. Ramsgate Maritime Museum is controlled by the Steam Museum Trust, an enlisted charity. The historical center is housed in structures rented from Thanet District Council. The Clock House was worked in 1817 by Benjamen Wyatt and George Louch.
It was later adjusted by John Rennie and has now been assigned as a Grade II recorded building. There are four changeless exhibitions covering the improvement of the harbor, route, angling, rafts and wrecks. A 5th display space houses a 17th century 32-pounder demi-gun raised from the disaster area of HMS Stirling Castle. Various ancient rarities originate from the adjacent Goodwin Sands which is in charge of ious shipwrecks. Exhibits incorporate two historical center ships: the 1946 steam pull Cervia and Sundowner, a 1912 Dunkirk little ship.
