About Poole Museum
Poole Museum once in the past known as the Waterfront Museum is a neighborhood history exhibition hall arranged on the Lower High Street in the Old Town zone of Poole, Dorset, and is a piece of the Borough of Poole Museum Service. Access to Poole Museum is free, and the gallery is the fifth most went by free fascination in South West England.Opened in 1989 and set in a nineteenth century harbor distribution center, Poole Museum shows the account of the town and its kin. A noteworthy restoration of the exhibition hall occurred in 2005 at a cost of £1.3 million subsidized by the Heritage Lottery Fund and nearby fundraising.
The revamped gallery opened in July 2007 with new open offices including a patio and a guest relax with sees over Poole Harbor and the Old Town and another glass chamber entrance planned by Richard Horden of Horden Cherry Lee Architects. The middle bit of the historical center is the 2,000-year-old Poole Logboat, an Iron Age vessel which was found in 1964 amid digging work in Poole Harbor.
