Parliament Street
About Parliament Street
Settled at the edge of Greggs Bakery on Exeter's High Street lies the tightest road in Britain. Once known as Small Lane, it was renamed Parliament Street at some point in the vicinity of 1651 and 1832, most likely as a major aspect of a darken and not exceptionally entertaining joke. Truth be told, there are two contending speculations in the matter of why it is called Parliament Street.
The first is that it is a facetious reference to Cromwell's Commonweath, and all the more particularly the huge measure of energy that Parliament delighted in the years following the English Civil War. The second hypothesis is that the name happened in 1831, when the House of Lords dismissed an appointive change charge which had just gone through the Commons. This bill had delighted in a lot of open help.
